Biography
Salvatore Mancuso Marcello, the son of Giuseppe Mancuso Marcello and Maria Savona, is born on 8 March 1860 in Corleone.[1]
Salvatore marries Maria Lucia Morello, daughter of Salvatore Morello and Vita Cutrone, on 26 October 1884 in Corleone.[2]
A Palermo, Diocese of Monreale, Catholic Church Record documents the baptism of Salvatore's first child, Joseph, on September 15, 1885.[3]
Salvatore emigrates from Italy with his wife and child in 1891 and settles in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana where he becomes known as Sam Marcello. The U.S. Census of 1900 records his family along with the month, year, and location of each member's birth.[4]
